TOYOTA TOP FEB. SALESToyota reached number one in the Irish Passenger Car market in February, selling 1,770 passenger vehicles for a 14.46% share of the market.Commenting David Shannon, Managing Director, Toyota Ireland said; ‘Normally we would not comment on monthly figures for the market here in Ireland. However, given the highly onerous circumstances which have existed for Toyota and its customers over the past month we felt it appropriate to thank all those people who have continued to support us at this time. It really is a testament to the strength of relationship Toyota has built with the Irish public over the past 30 years. For now our critical focus in Toyota Ireland remains, and all our energies are being channelled into the successful completion of the recent recall and, in doing so, reassuring our customers and the general motoring public that their safety and peace of mind is of paramount importance to us. To date we have written to all 18,130 customers who were potentially affected and have carried out some 6,000 repairs. Our dealers, who have the capacity to deal with 1,100 repairs a day, continue to prioritise customers who contact them to have the repair carried out.’ |
