Renault doubles market share as car market shows signs of slight recoveryIn new car registration figures released today, the car market showed signs of growth, up 4.1% on 2009. Renault Ireland managing director Eric Basset commented: “The first month of the year is crucial but we have worked very hard as have our dealer network. I believe our extended scrappage scheme played a big part in boosting Renault car sales, but there is still a long way to go. The market is showing slight improvement and confidence in the new car market has also been given a boost by the Government’s scrappage scheme.” The Renault Megane shot to number four on the overall list of the top ten selling models in January and is also the second top selling diesel car. The popular Clio which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year is the number two top selling petrol model on the Irish market. |
