KIA CROSS GT CONCEPT UNVEILED IN CHICAGO By Brian Foley

New Kia models, production, near-production and concepts, keep popping up like mushrooms. Latest is the Kia Cross GT, a luxury concept unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show and obviousdly aimed more at the American market than elsewhere. Kia's intention is to produce a premium and larger SUV than the Sorento. The Cross GT is built on the GT platform with short body overhangs, longer wheelbase and 4-wheel-drive. It's a 4-seater with generous load space, raised stance and lots of equipment, including a glass roof panel for a bright interior.

The Cross GT will be a real performer with 3.8 litre V8 (petrol) engine, hybrid powertrain and 8-speed automatic transmission.
Kia has come a long way in a very short period to take on the establishment with a comprehensive range of models, all advanced designs with top quality build, finish, fittings and furnishings, now covering virtually all market segments.
