• Extensive motor industry background
• Announcement comes as Chevrolet names Ireland model range

Chevrolet has announced that Tom McQueirns has been appointed Country Director, Chevrolet Ireland.

The 48-year old has an extensive motor industry CV, and has a past association with the brand having previously worked for the company that brought Chevrolet and Sssangyong vehicles into the country, along with a short tenure at Nissan.

A qualified chartered accountant, McQueirns also has a BSc in Management acquired at Trinity College, Dublin.

He is responsible for overseeing development of the Chevrolet brand and dealer network across Ireland, as well as managing sales and aftersales functions throughout the country, and liaises directly with the Chevrolet team in the UK.

“This is an exciting time for Chevrolet, and for me personally,” said Mr McQueirns. “The Chevrolet range has transformed in the past two years, and there are now a number of cars in the line-up that are perfect for Irish motorists. The cars are affordable and practical, yet at the same time they offer the style and quality that suits a market that has become ever more discerning in recent years.

"There is great scope for growth, and long-term development of the brand that will benefit our customers and dealers.”

Commenting on the appointment, Chevrolet UK and Ireland Managing Director, Mark Terry, said: “It’s a real pleasure to welcome Tom back into the Chevrolet family. He has a proven track record and a great in-depth knowledge of the Irish motor industry, which makes him the ideal person to drive our brand forward as we relaunch Chevrolet in Ireland.”

Mr McQueirns took up his position on June 25, and is based in Dublin.
