Eddie Jordan Counts Down to Bavaria Dublin City Motor Racing Festival By Brian Foley

Dublin City centre to host FREE spectacle featuring Grand Prix ace Jenson Button

Bavaria City Racing takes place on the streets of Dublin on Bank Holiday Sunday 3rd June in a full five hours of FREE non-stop motorsport entertainment.

The spectators will experience for the first time ever the sights, sounds and smells of Formul One right in the heart of the capital, highlight of which will be World Championship and Grand Prix winner Jenson Button at the wheel of a Vodafone McLaren-Mercedes (pictured).

Eddie Jordan (pictured), Event Ambassador for Bavaria City Racing Dublin, commented, “This will be a very special event and the potential for Dublin to show off its beauty and uniqueness to a massive international audience is huge. People will travel from all over Europe to attend the event and we have an opportunity to really capitalise on this opportunity if we grab it with both hands and showcase Dublin and Ireland as a modern European city with its own unique people, culture and history.” The free event promises something for everyone with a number of track side zones such as the Family Zone, the Gaming Zone, the Fashion & Beauty Zone, the Vodafone F1 Zone and the Monster Energy Zone.

But the spectacle is not just restricted to the Sunday afternoon. On Friday 1st June Bavaria City Racing and Arnotts are hosting a VIP F1 Fashion Party in the iconic department store on Henry Street. Arnotts will be running a Glam Prix event between 31st May – 3rd June, with a variety of beauty pit stops and gorgeous giveaways.

On Saturday 2nd June, Bavaria City Racing will host a free Pre-Event Party for members of the public in Meeting House Square, Temple Bar. The Pre-Event Party will feature live performances from Eddie Jordan & the Robbers, Ryan Sheridan and some special guests. A host of other free gigs will also be taking place on the night in venues around the city centre.

The main event gets underway at 12 noon on Sunday 3rd June with five full hours of on track entertainment. Dublin’s city centre will be closed for the day to accommodate the city track which encompasses iconic Dublin landmarks such as O’Connell Bridge, Trinity College, the Customs House, Liberty Hall, the Samuel Beckett Bridge and the Convention Centre Dublin.

What is Bavaria City Racing Dublin?
On June 3rd 2012 Dublin city centre will be closed down as the streets are transformed into an F1 circuit for a FREE demonstration by some of the top drivers in the world of motorsport Bavaria City Racing Dublin will bring the sights, sounds and smell of F1 to the streets of Dublin for a unique FREE public exhibition

Performing on the track will be Jenson Button in his F1 Vodafone McLaren, the Caterham F1 team and over 70 other top of the range vehicles from the world of motorsport that includes superbikes, supercars, WRC, Drifters and Stunt vehicles.

The Bavaria City Racing Dublin event is subject to licenses being granted

Although 96% of the event is free to the public, there are special ticketed premium performance zones along the racetrack that bring you closer to the action. Performance zone ticket information is available from the Bavaria City Racing Dublin website and from Ticketmaster.
